Think braces are boring? Think again! At each and every adjustment appointment, you have the opportunity to pick a new color based on your mood, the season, or the nearest holiday. To learn a few of the most popular rubber band colors and what they say about you, read on!
Red
Associated with fire, heat, and passion, red is a charged and intense color. Of course, it’s the color associated with love too, giving it a softer side. If you’re interested in trying out this color, consider doing it in December, February, or July – it’s festive!
Orange
Orange is a beautiful, unique color that comes in a wide range of shades. If you’re interested in picking a “wow” color, then a bright hue will certainly turn heads. Deeper tones are a bit more “wearable,” especially around Halloween time.
Yellow
Linked to joy and brightness, yellow is the “happy” color. So, if you have a bunch of energy or are particularly excited about something, consider opting for it! Note: if you want to try out this color but are a bit hesitant, maybe get them on just your top or bottom teeth.
Green
Green is symbolic of nature and is also associated with growth and stability. So, it’s quite a positive color! One important thing to note is that some shades can look a bit like there is food stuck on your teeth. So, make sure to pick a vibrant shade or mix it with another color you love.
Blue
Tranquility, calm, and healing are a few words connected to the color blue. If you want to channel this energy (or simply love the color), then try opting for brighter tones in the summer and darker shades in the winter to switch things up!
Purple
While deep purples can act as a neutral and bright tones are associated with creativity, it’s largely known as the color of royalty! So, if you love the arts, want to delve into your creative side, or are feeling a bit fancy, this is a great choice.
Black
Black may be mysterious and spooky, but it’s also quite elegant! If you have a bold sense of style, then it could be a year-round color for you. Of course, if you simply want to try it out, then October is the perfect month to do so.
White
White is a great option because it blends in with your natural teeth, making your braces a bit more discreet. It’s important to note, however, that the rubber bands can discolor. So, if you aren’t diligent about cleaning them consistently, there’s a good chance they’ll turn yellow.
Whether you love one particular color, want to try something new every month, or want to get an entire rainbow, have fun with your braces!
